Error: "The search index is currently not available" in IT Shop Search -
Description
When trying to perform a search within the IT Shop website, the following error is displayed:
"One or more errors occurred"
"The search index is currently not available"

Cause
This can occur if the database connection does not support full text search; or if no Application Server with the Service service has been configured for IT Shop to use. -
Resolution
To install the Application Server:
1. On a server with IIS, start the Identity Manager 7.1 Autorun
a. From the 7.1 download folder, run "autorun.exe"
2. Start the "Web based components" installer
a. Select "Installation" from the side navigation menu
b. Click "Install" for the "Web Based Components" to start the installer
3. Follow the installation for the "Install Application Server"
a. From the "Web Installer" select "Install Application Server" from the top of the list, and click "Next"
b. Provide login information for the Identity Manager database, and click "Next"
c. Change the "URL" if needed, and document this for later. Click "Next".
d. Ensure that the "Search Indexing Service" and "Search Service" are selected for install, and click "Next"
e. Select an existing certificate, (or create a new certificate), and click "Next"
f. Provide update credentials if needed, or click "Next" to use the default IIS credentials for updates.
g. Wait for the installation to complete, and click "Next"
h. If everything installed correctly, click "Finish"
4. Ensure the App Server is working
a. Using a Web Browser, try to load the URL noted earlier in step "3.c"\
b. If the One Identity Manager login page correctly loads, continue to the next step.
To update the Identity Manager website to use the new Application Server:
1. Browse to the installation folder of the IT Shop website.
a. By default, this is: "C:\inetpub\wwwroot\IdentityManager\bin"
2. Launch the "WebDesigner.ConfigFileEditor.exe" tool
a. A prompt will appear to select the web.config from the parent "IdentityManager" folder
b. A prompt will appear to authenticate to the database
3. Enter the URL for the Application Server
a. Expand the "Search Service" option
b. Select the "Select application server" text
c. Provide the URL documented and tested earlier for the Application Server
d. Pin a certificate if desired
e. Select "Options" | "Test" to ensure the connection is successful
4. Save and Restart IIS
a. Save and close the "Web Designer Configuration File Editor
b. Open a Command Prompt as Administrator
c. Run the command "IISRESET" to restart IIS
Browse to the IT Shop Website and try to search again. If everything went well, search results should now appear.
