Data import from authoritative system, "The object has pending process steps" (4330937)

If one connects an authoritative source system (HR system, which is master over the data, for example) to Identity Manager (1IM), one must be able to rely on certain security-relevant changes (e.g. Person.IsInActive or IsSecurityIncident) being imported from this system to 1IM.

Now, since Resolved issue 29857, there is a lock on an object that is entered in table QBMElementAffectedByJob and thus potentially provisioning processes (or HandleObjects) are still underway for it.  Then the message comes:

"The object has pending process steps"

This means that a mechanism is needed where one can define per object type and per column which system wins.  If inconsistencies arise in the process, they are declared by the user to have a lower risk than an ignored HR data record.

An enhancement request (#34956) has been created.
