Unable to authenticate to the web portal using single sign on (4334387)

When attempting to login to the web portal using Active Directory user account (single sign on) the login fails. The web portal logs show the following error :

System.Exception: Single-sign-on failed, URL was webpage.com ---> System.AggregateException: One or more errors occurred. ---> VI.Base.ViException: Failed to authenticate user. ---> VI.Base.ViException: The current user could not be determined.

Follow the steps below to disable Anonymous authentication and enable Windows Authentication

1. On the web host open IIS
2. Navigate to the site in question
3. Click on Authentication
4. Ensure that Anonymous Authentication is disabled
5. Ensure that Windows Authentication is enabled
6. Reset IIS via command prompt

If Windows Authentication is not present in step 5 follow the steps below to add it.

1. Open Server Manager on the web host
2. Click on Add roles and features
3. Click the Next button until the Server Roles are listed
4. Expand Web Server (IIS)
5. Expand Web Server
6. Expand Security
7. Place a check mark next to Windows Authentication
8. Click Next until the Install button is active
9. Click on the Install button
10. Reset IIS via command prompt
