HOW TO: Add the Active Directory Recycle Bin to Active Roles (4323083)

If you have Windows Server 2008 R2 Domain Functional Level, how is it possible to enable the Active Directory Recycle Bin and have it displayed in the Active Roles Web Interface, and the Active Roles Console?

Follow these directions from Microsoft:

After completing the instructions verify in Directory Service event log on the Domain Controller. There should be an entry stating that the Active Directory Recycle Bin has been detected, and it should now be visible in the Active Roles clients.

If a reconnect on the MMC Console does not display the Active Directory Recycle bin, and restarting the Active Roles Service is not an option that can be done at that time. Perform solution 1, and 2 of the following article here: How to clear the Active Roles Server Schema cache

Also, please make sure that the AR MMC console's View Mode is configured to 'Advanced Mode':

1) AR MMC > View > Mode > Advanced Mode

The Active Directory Recycle Bin should now appear in Active Roles.
