Active Roles performance issues in environments with a large number of Microsoft Exchange mailboxes (4336544)

In environments with a large or complicated Microsoft Exchange deployment, it is noted that retrieving all Active Roles screens, such as the General Properties tab, is slower for Users with Microsoft Exchange mailboxes than for Users without.

STATUS

This issue has been fixed as of Active Roles 7.2.1 with the introduction of the optional PerformanceFlag registry key, documented below.

Enhancement ID 426881 has been created to make this option the default in a future version of Active Roles.

To implement the workaround, please complete the following steps:

1. Navigate to registry path HKEY_LOCAL_ MACHINE\SOFTWARE\One Identity\Active Roles\Configuration
2. Create a 32-bit DWORD value with name PerformanceFlag and set value to '1'.
3. Setting PerformanceFlag to '1' will enable the fix. Setting PerformanceFlag to '0' will disable the fix. This value must be set on machines with the Administrative service and the Web Interface installed.
4. Re-start the Service and IIS to enable or disable the fix. The Active Roles Eventl ogs will contain an event with Event ID 2508 which will have the following text if the hotfix is enabled successfully: Performance flag value set to 1.
