Active Roles Service Connection Point settings

Active Roles constantly refreshes the "keywords" attribute in Active Directory with a new time stamp as this is part of the process of publishing its Service Connection Point.

Is it possible to reduce the frequency of this update?

WORKAROUND

The update parameter can be adjusted as seen below:

It is not recommended to increase it beyond 60 minutes since Active Directory checks for Service Connection Points every 60 minutes and if the Service Connection Point is not updated during the two checks, it may become obsolete. This can cause problems with services that rely on the Service Connection Point, such as the Active Roles Console (MMC). It is recommended that it be increased to no more than 50 minutes to ensure that the Service Connection Point is updated at least once every hour.

Note: Please keep in mind that if problems arise as a result of the discovery of Active Roles service, the setting may need to be modified.
