Error: Database error 8152: String or binary data would be truncated (4339411)

Scenario: Create a custom column with the default column properties.  Once completed, set the column property Multi-value column to enabled and commit the changes.  Set the value of that column for an object with a value greater than 400 characters and save the changes, the error below will be seen in the logs:

"Database error 8152: String or binary data would be truncated. An error was raised during trigger execution. The batch has been aborted and the user transaction, if any, has been rolled back."

WORKAROUND

Within Designer disable the column properties "log changes" and "log changes when deleting" for the custom column.

STATUS

This will be fixed in a later version of Identity Manager.
