HOW TO: Pass a multi-valued parameter value to a Workflow Search Activity (4340924)

In an parameterized Workflow, passing a multi-valued DN parameter and attempting to use that parameter as a search target does not provide the desired results.

Instead of performing a search in all of the passed locations, a search is only performed in one location.

This is expected functionality.

The Search Activity does not accept a multi-valued parameter as a search target. Instead, the parameter must be parsed so that the locations within the parameter as split up and then then a search must be performed against each location in the parameter.

For example:

If the parameter named OUs contains a list of distinguishedNames, the following Search activity can be performed:

Inside of the Search Activity, have an IF/Else Branch. Inside of Branch One, have the following conditional check:

The desired operations can then be performed in Branch One.

Inside Brand Two, the conditional check and operations can be left blank.
