How to change the frequency or disable replication between Password Manager servers (4226769)

This article describes how to change the frequency or disable replication between Active Directory (AD) and other Password Manager servers.

NOTE: Do not disable the scheduled task if there are multiple Password Manager servers in the same Realm. Doing so may cause adverse effects to users.

WORKAROUND

To stop replication between AD and other Password Manager instances for Password Manager, follow the steps below:

1. Stop the Password Manager service
2. Open shared.storage file, located on the Password Manager server under C:\ProgramData\One Identity\Password Manager
3. Search the file for the word, "Replication" to find the entry that looks like this: 
   
   <task schedulingType="Hourly" id="a2627246-9b45-4670-a085-e031751cc101" name="StorageReplication" enabled="true" hidden="true" period="00:05:00" weekDays="0" editMode="0">
4. Unhide the task by setting Hidden = "false" for the Storage Replication task
   
   Example: <task schedulingType="Hourly" id="a2627246-9b45-4670-a085-e031751cc101" name="StorageReplication" enabled="true" hidden="false" period="00:05:00" weekDays="0" editMode="0">
5. Save the file
6. Start the Password Manager service
7. Open the PMAdmin site
8. Navigate to General Settings | Scheduled Tasks
9. There is a new task in the list called Instance Synchronization
10. Disable or change the frequency as desired
