When attempting to access either the Admin, Helpdesk or Self Service site one of the followings error were reported.
“Error in the application
There was no endpoint listening at net.pipe://localhost/QPM.Service.Services.AdminService that could accept the message. This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP action. See InnerException, if present, for more details.”
Or
“Error in the application
There was an error writing to the pipe: The pipe is being closed. (232, 0xe8).”
And in the verbose logs the following error is reported.
“This implementation is not part of the Windows Platform FIPS validated cryptographic algorithms.”
FIPS is enabled on the Password Manager server.
FIPS can be disabled by turning it off in the registry by switching the following key from ‘1’ to ‘0’
“HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\FIPSAlgorithmPolicy\Enabled”
And restarting the Password Manager service.
Alternatively FIPS can also be disabled by navigating to
Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Local Security Policy | Local Policies | Security Options
And search for the policy
“System Cryptography: use FIPS compliant algorithms for encryption hashing and signing”
Right click and disable this setting.
Restart the Password Manager service.
