Secondary Node:
- Verify that the external interface on the Master (Primary) and Slave (Secondary) nodes have been configured on the HA configuration page.
- If the External interface is greyed out on the secondary node, uncheck the box for the external HA interface, and then immediately check that same box.
The field for the external interface should now be able to be edited with the external interface for the heartbeat on the slave.
- Once done, synchronize the configuration of the secondary node by clicking the "Synchronize Configuration" button on the top of the page. A window may appear confirming whether or not to continue, click "okay".
- Wait approximately 5 minutes and then reboot the secondary node via the HA page. Once the slave is rebooted the HA Redundant Heartbeat Status should be successful.
Primary Node:
If after completing the above steps the Redundant Heartbeat Status is still showing as degraded, then it is likely that the HA interface on the primary node is not working properly. The following steps will rectify it.
- Perform a failover by clicking on the ‘Activate Slave’ button on SSB > Basic Settings > High Availability. This will switch the primary node to secondary and vis-a-versa.
- Once the failover has completed reboot the secondary node
- Once it has rebooted verify that the Redundant Heartbeat Status is ‘OK’
- Click on the ‘Activate Slave’ button on SSB > Basic Settings > High Availability to switch the nodes back to their original Primary/Secondary status.
