To enable a trial license

- Download the license and the installation package for your platform, then follow the installation instructions in the Administration Guide.
To enable a purchased commercial license
- Download the license and the installation package for your platform, then follow the installation instructions in the Administration Guide.
To install or upgrade syslog-ng Premium Edition (syslog-ng PE), follow the instructions in "Installing syslog-ng PE" in the Administration Guide.
NOTE: From syslog-ng PE version 7.0.26, the old, Java-based kafka() destination has been deprecated. One Identity recommends that you use the new, C-based kafka-c() destination.
NOTE: The upgrade from syslog-ng PE 6LTS has been made more robust starting with syslog-ng PE version 7.0.23. If you're upgrading from a syslog-ng PE 6LTS version, first upgrade to the latest available syslog-ng PE 6LTS release, then upgrade to syslog-ng PE 7LTS.
