Microsoft will disable Basic Authentication in Exchange Online for all tenants October 1, 2022. The official notification is available here.
How does this affect me?
Since Microsoft is deprecating the use of basic authentication for Microsoft Exchange Online beginning in October of 2022, the use of this method by Identity Manager will fail with an HTTP 401 error.
If you are using Identity Manager version 8.1.3, 8.1.5 or 8.2.x or later, you will not be affected and no is hotfix required.
Identity Manager versions 6.x, 7.x, 8.0.0 to 8.0.4, 8.1.0 and 8.1.1 are no longer supported and no hotfix is available. These versions can no longer be used for synchronization with Exchange Online.
If an unsupported release is being used (refer to the Identity Manager Life Cycle table to determine the current support phase of your product), One Identity recommends customers and partners upgrade to a later release. Our experts can help you quickly transition to a new product version, so check out the Identity Manager Services offerings to get started.
