The Locations dialog allows you to select an alternate location to search for objects. This dialog is displayed when you select the Locations button on the Select objects dialog or Add permissions dialog.
This dialog contains the following controls.
Control | Description |
---|---|
Reference Domain | This field is pre-populated with the local domain to be searched. |
Location | Displays a hierarchical view of the entire enterprise. Expand to view the reference forest, forest trusts and external trusts. |
Refresh Locations | Click the Refresh Locations button to retrieve and redisplay the hierarchical tree view. |
OK |
Click the OK button to save your selections and close the dialog. |
Cancel |
Click the Cancel button to close the dialog without saving your selections. |
The Select users, computers or groups dialog allows you to construct more advanced queries to search for an object. This dialog appears when you select the Advanced button on the Select objects dialog or Add permissions dialog.
This dialog contains the following controls.

Select this object type | This field is pre-populated with the appropriate object type(s) based on the task that launched the dialog. |
Object Types | Click the Object Types button to change the types of objects to be searched. Clicking this button displays a list of object types from which you can select from. |
From this location | This field is pre-populated with the local domain to be searched. |
Locations | Click the Locations button to change the location to be searched. Clicking this button displays a list of reference domains from which you can select from. |
Common Queries |
Use the controls in this pane to define queries to search for objects. Use the Name and Description controls to define the query to be run. |

In the first field, select the expression to be used to match an object's name:

Find Now | After entering your query, select the Find Now button to initiate the search. |
Stop | Click the Stop button to cancel the search that is currently running. |
Search results | This pane displays the search results. |

Click the Cancel button to close the dialog without saving your selections. |
The Name not found dialog appears when the specified object name cannot be found as specified on the Select objects dialog or Add permissions dialog. This dialog allows you to check the selected object types and location for accuracy, ensure that you entered the object name correctly, and re-run the search using the new values entered.

Select this option to specify a different object type, location or object name for conducting the search.

Remove "<object name>" from selection | Select this option to remove the previously entered object name from the search. When you click OK, this also clears the object name from the Select objects/Add permissions dialog, allowing you to enter a different name. |
OK | Click the OK button to run the search based on the changes made and close the dialog. The results of the search appears on the Select objects/Add permissions dialog. |
Cancel | Click the Cancel button to close the dialog without running a new search. |
The Permission levels dialog allows you to view the permissions contained in a SharePoint permission level. From this dialog, you can also create a new SharePoint permissions level or modify or remove an existing permissions level. This dialog appears when you select the Permission Levels tool bar button in the lower pane of the Resource browser.

This dialog contains the following controls.

Permission Levels |
In the left pane, select a permission level to display its permissions. |
Permissions | The permissions included in the selected permissions level are displayed in the right pane. |
New | Click the New button to create a new permissions level. Clicking this button allows you to enter a unique name and description for the new permissions level as well as select the required permissions to be included. |
Modify | Click the Modify button to modify the permissions level selected in the left pane. Clicking this button displays the Permissions dialog, allowing you to modify the name, description and included permissions as needed. |
Delete | Click the Delete button to delete the permissions level selected in the left pane. |
OK |
Click the OK button to save your selections and close the dialog. |
Cancel |
Click the Cancel button to close the dialog without saving your selections. |
