Inplace upgrade with multiple instances connected to the same DB is not supported -
说明
When running an inplace upgrade with 2 or more Active Roles instances, first Active Roles instance upgrades and creates Configuration and Management History DBs succesfully. Configuration DB gets imported automatically. When upgrading the next Active Roles server the following error appears:
"Verification failed:
- The destination Configuration database already exists on the server. To resolve the issue, renmae the new database.
- The destination Management History database exists on the server. To resolve the issue, rename the new database."
When trying to change the DBs manually, it errors with:
"Verification failed:
- Unable to use the specified Active Roles database due to version mismatch. Choose a database of the current Active Roles version.

解决办法
Status:
This is currently by design. Feature Request #465330 has been raised to be able to use pre-created blank database during in-place upgrade.
Workaround:
1.- Remove the "IsInPlaceUpgrade" registry key under
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\One Identity\Active Roles\Configuration\Web
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\One Identity\Active Roles\Configuration\Service
2.- Set the "Configured" key under the following registry path to 0:
3.- Reopen the ARS Config Center tool.
This will stop running the in-place upgrade wizard post configuration on the second instance..
