"Mailbox deprovisioning is skipped because the user doesn't have an Exchange mailbox." error encountered when deprovisioning User with Exchange Online mailbox (4379658)

When performing a Deprovision operation on a User with an Exchange Online mailbox, the following error message is noted in the User's Deprovisioning Results:

Mailbox deprovisioning is skipped because the user doesn't have an Exchange mailbox.

The Exchange Mailbox Deprovisioning policy is configured, and this policy is intended for use only with on-prem Microsoft Exchange mailboxes.

Enhancement ID 494099 has been created to either add an "Exchange Online Mailbox Deprovisioning" policy or to allow the Exchange Mailbox Deprovisioning policy to work with both on-prem Microsoft Exchange mailboxes as well as Exchange Online mailboxes.

WORKAROUND

Configure the desired attributes to be changed in the User Account Deprovisioning policy or in a Change Workflow.

STATUS

An Enhancement Request has been created to integrate this functionality into Active Roles.

Product Management will evaluate the request and this feature may become available in a future release of the product.

There are no guarantees that this specific enhancement request will be implemented in a future release.
