Version 2.5.916 of TPAM incorporates Java Web Start as an alternate solution to the Java browser plugin.
Browser vendors and Oracle has recently announced their intention to deprecate NPAPI (Netscape Plugin Application Programming Interface ) and the Java browser plugin.
Oracle is planning this change in JDK (Java Development Kit ) 9 as a best practice to move into a plugin-free technology.
The Java functionality has been migrated to JNLP (Java Network Launch Protocol ) / Java Web Start (JavaWS) in the release of TPAM 2.5.916.
In TPAM version 2.5.916 and later clicking the Connect button on the Request screen prompts the browser to download the JNLP file, which is then launched using Java Web Start (javaws.exe).
