The following example will be used to create a button on the home screen of the Active Roles Web Interface to display recently completed tasks. In this example login with the highest permissions available that can customize the Active Roles Web Interface.
Task 1: Obtain the URL for the page to be linked to the custom button
- Select Approval on the home screen view
- Under the right side pane select Recent under the My Operations heading
- After the screen refreshes copy the URL path displayed at the top to use for the custom button
Task 2: Creating the custom button and setting the URL path to view the Recent Completed tasks
- Select the Customize option in the top right window pane of the home screen
- Select the Add... button to create the custom button
- In the Name: field enter the button custom name example: Recent completed tasks
- In the URL to open: field paste the URL path from Task 1, for step 3 above that was copied
- (Optional) fill in the Text to display: field if more information is required
- For this example use the default Picture to display: icon that is provided
- Leave the check in the box, for Display this item on the home page
- Select the Advanced Properties menu name
- Under the Optional parameters: menu select DN from the list, and select the Append button to change this to Append = No
- Also remove the check in the box for Open the URL in a frame, select OK to confirm the settings
- Select the Save button to commit the settings or the above steps will need to be redone
- A green banner will be seen at the top of this page when it refreshes select the Reload option to publish the changes to the Active Roles Web Interface site
- Select the custom button from the home screen Recent completed tasks to view the results
