Changes made to pam_vas PAM module, in /etc/pam.d/system-auth, on Redhat, are lost after reboot. -

When restarting a server running Redhat, any changes made to the pam_vas PAM module, in /etc/pam.d/system-auth, are lost. For example, if it is not desirable for home directories to be created for new VAS users upon login, one must remove the create_homedir argument from the pam_vas module. As this is a default argument, it will be restored after a reboot of the Redhat system. -
原因
Running /usr/sbin/authconfig causes /etc/pam.d/system-auth to be regenerated -- authconfig may be set to run while booting. -
解决办法
Ensure that /usr/sbin/autconfig is not being called at boot time by /etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit, as this will reset the /etc/pam.d/system-auth back to its default state. -
