Error received removing approval policy from shelf: "You are not allowed to remove default objects or assignments."

In Manager when attempting to remove an assigned Approval Policy using "Assign approval policies" receive the error:

"You are not allowed to remove default objects or assignments."

In such a case the assigned policy is a default.  For example, for the shelf "Active Directory Groups" the default assigned policies are "Approval of Active Directory group membership requests" and "Approval of Active Directory group membership requests II".

This is by design.  Default approval policies cannot be removed from the default IT Shop shelves.

If the default approval policy is not sufficient, it's possible to add a custom policy and this will take precendence for the shelf.

Alternately, assign the products that require application of a custom policy to a different shelf.
