Web Portal error following upgrade: "Migration version of this database is too new."

After upgrading Identity Manager from version 8.1.5 to 9.0 LTS and attempting to connect to the database directly, the web portal gives an error:

"Migration version of this database is too new.

This software works only with migration version up to 2019.0001.0021.9999"

This is a known defect ID #36107.

WORKAROUND

There are two possible workarounds:

1:

- Check if the server has internet access (it is trying to download WebView2).

- If internet access is not possible for said server, download WebView2 from here: Download the WebView2 Runtime

- Install it manually (WITH admin privileges, otherwise it will not be installed to all system users)

- Set the windows system environment variable IM_NO_WEBVIEW2 to true.

2:

- Uninstall and reinstall the Application Server with admin privileges.

- Reboot the server after reinstallation.

STATUS

A fix will be released in a future Cumulative Update (CU) package.
