How to test LDAP settings and communicationsGo to AAA | Settings | Authentication settingsEnsure the settings are correctClick on the Test button
You should see a pop-up Result window saying Connection succeeded.
For information on how to setup LDAP authentication see the Managing SSB users from an LDAP database section of the SSB Admin Guide.
How to test the Port
Go to Basic Settings | Troubleshooting | Connect to TCP port
Enter in IP address of your domain controller In the Hostname fieldEnter in port 389 in the TCP port field
How to do a tcpdump to check if SSB communicate with LDAP during a failing authenticationIn order to keep ssh gui up and ssh in at the same time, you will need to run a remote command in ssh. You can accomplish this in putty by doing the following:
SSH into the SSB
Run:core-shellRun: tcpdump port 389 -w tcpdump.pcapPlease note that you also must enable ssh in the SSB gui. Please see KB313934 on instructions how to do this.
