Creating request templates

If you request certain products frequently, you can create an request template from an already populated and configured shopping cart that you can reuse later to save time.

To create a request template from the shopping cart

  1. In the menu bar, click Requests > Shopping cart.

    NOTE: The list of products and options for handling them is only shown when there are products in the shopping cart (see Adding products to the shopping cart).

  2. On the Shopping Cart page, in the list, select the check boxes next to the products that you want to add to the request template.

  3. On the Shopping Cart page, click (Actions) > Create request template.

  4. In the Create Request Template pane, in the Request template field, enter a meaningful name for the request template.

  5. (Optional) In the Description field, enter a description for the request template.

  6. Click Create.

Editing request templates

You can edit the details of your request templates. You can also remove products from request templates that you created yourself (see Removing products from request templates).

To edit a request template

  1. In the menu bar, click Setup > Request templates.

  2. On the Request Templates page, next to the request template you want to edit, click Edit.

    NOTE: You can only edit request templates that you created yourself.

  3. In the Edit Request Template pane, enter any additional information you want provide.

    TIP: You can also share request templates with other users here (see Sharing request templates).

Removing products from request templates

You can remove products from your request templates.

To remove a product from a request template

  1. In the menu bar, click Setup > Request templates.

  2. On the Request Templates page, next to the product you want to remove, click Edit.

    NOTE: You can only edit request templates that you created yourself.

  3. In the Edit Request Template pane, click the Products tab.

  4. On the Products tab, select the check box next to the product that you want to remove.

  5. Click Remove.

Sharing request templates

To allow other users to use your request templates, you can share your own request templates with other users.

To share an request template with other users

  1. In the menu bar, click Setup > Request templatesRequests > My request templates.

  2. On the Request Templates page, select the check box next to the request template you want to share with other users.

  3. Click Share.
