Increased Flexibility and Performance
All sample taxonomies provided with Data Governance Edition as well as any previously created custom taxonomies are available through the Catalog view in the Categorization Manager.
Depending on the state of the taxonomy within your deployment, you can:
•
Import a new taxonomy into your deployment

By default, when you import a new taxonomy it will be unpublished. Before you can begin to classify your resources based on the categories contained within it, you will need to set the required settings through the Categorization Manager.

You may want to import the taxonomy into a test environment first to ensure that it meets your needs and assess the rules contained within it. Once you are confident that the taxonomy and/or category suits your needs, you can publish all in a single operation.

Replace an existing taxonomy in your deployment

You can replace a taxonomy if you want to restore a previously backed up taxonomy (including its rules and extractors), or if you want to upgrade but do not wish to preserve any existing taxonomy customizations.

Export a taxonomy

You can move taxonomies between environments, distribute custom taxonomies, and create backups. For example, if you maintain a development environment, you can export from your development environment and import to your production environment.

When you export a taxonomy, you can provide a publisher to help identify taxonomies that you have created for your organization or for distribution.

Additional PowerShell commands have been added to manage taxonomies within your classification environment, including:
•
Get-QImportableTaxonomies to view a list of all taxonomies that are available for import.
•
Export-QTaxonomy to export a taxonomy to share between environments or to create a backup.
•
Import-QTaxonomyByname to import a taxonomy by name, including all of its categories and rules.
•
Move-QCategory to move a category within or between taxonomies.
•
Set-QPublishAllForCategory to publish all categories at once.
•
Add-QAdvancedTextExtractor to add a new advanced text extractor to the system.
•
Add-QDictionaryTextExtractor to add a dictionary text extractor to the system.
•
Add-QRegexTextExtractor to add a regular expression text extractor to the system.
•
Confirm-QTextExtractor to test the validity of a text extractor.
•
Get-QAdvancedTextExtractors to view the list of all advanced text extractors and their general properties (including IDs) used in the system.
•
Get-QDictionaryTerms to view the terms associated for a given dictionary text extractor.
•
Get-QDictionaryTextExtractors to view the list of all dictionary text extractors and their general properties (including IDs) used in the system.
•
Get-QRegexTextExtractor s to view the list of all regex text extractors and their general properties (including IDs) used in the system.
•
Get-QTextExtractors to view the list of all text extractors and their general properties (including IDs) used in the system.
•
Get-QRulesAssociatedWithTextExtractor to view the list of rules that have been associated with a given text extractor.
•
New-QDictionaryTerm to create a new dictionary term.
•
Remove-QTextExtractor to remove a text extractor from the system.
•
Set-QAdavncedTextExtractor to edit the advanced text extractor properties.
•
Set-QDictionaryTextExtractor to edit the dictionary text extractor properties.
•
Set-QDictionaryTerms to update the terms included in a dictionary text extractor.
•
Set-QRegexTextExtractor to edit the regular expression text extractor properties.
•
Set-QTextExtractor to edit the text extractor general properties.
