Creating workflows with the workflow wizard

The project wizard creates a synchronization workflowClosed for initially loading the target system objects into the One IdentityClosed Manager database. You can use the workflow wizard to set up more workflows. The workflow wizard specifies workflows for the direction of synchronization target system.

To create a workflow with the workflow wizard

  1. Select the Workflows category.

  2. Click in the navigation view.

    This starts the workflow wizard.

  3. On the General page, enter the main properties of the workflow.

    • Display name: Display name of the workflow.

    • Description: Text field for additional explanation.

  4. On the Assign mapping page, select the mappings that the workflow will handle and designate mappings for revision filtering.

By default, all existing mappings are enabled.

    • To deselect a mapping, double-click .

    • To select a mapping, double-click .

Revision filteringClosed is permitted for all mappings, by default.

NOTE: The Part of hierarchy column shows which mappings form part of the object hierarchy. To prevent errors, all mappings, which map the object hierarchy, must be entirely selected or entirely deselected.

  5. On the Synchronization behavior for intersections page, specify the synchronization behavior of the object pair whose properties have changed.

    1. In the Database method column, select the processing method to be run in the One Identity Manager database.

      - OR -

    2. In the Target systemClosed method column, select the processing method to be run in the target system.

  6. On the Relative complementClosed in One Identity Manager page, specify the synchronization behavior of objects that only exist in the One Identity Manager database.

    1. In the Database method column, select the processing method to be run in the One Identity Manager database.

      - OR -

    2. In the Target system method column, select the processing method to be run in the target system.

  7. On the Relative complement in the target system page, specify synchronization behavior for objects that only exist in the target system.

    1. In the Database method column, select the processing method to be run in the One Identity Manager database.

      - OR -

    2. In the Target system method column, select the processing method to be run in the target system.

  8. To end the workflow wizard, click Finish.

This creates the workflow. You can check the properties of the workflow and the synchronization steps with the workflow editor and rework them.

NOTE: A disabled synchronization step is added if no processing methods have been specified for a mapping.
