Enabling other Login Languages

The display text appears in the language that the user logged on to the tool with. When you log in the first time, the system language is used for displaying the user interface. The user can change the login language in any administration tool. This sets the language globally for all the tools that the user uses. Therefore the user does not have to set the login language in every tool separately. Changes to the login language take effect after the tool has been restarted.

All languages set with the option Select in front-end are available as login language.

To make other login language available

  1. Select the category Base Data | Localization | Cultures in the Designer.
  2. Select the language.
  3. Set the option Select in front-end.

Password Expiry

There are different ways to inform employees that their password is going to expire:

  • Users are alerted about their password expiring when they log in to One Identity Manager and can change their password if necessary.
  • In the employee-based authentication module, the system sends reminder emails about the password expiring beginning 7 days before the expiry date.
    • You can configure the time in days in the configuration parameter "Common\Authentication\DialogUserPasswordReminder". Use the Designer to edit the configuration parameter.
    • Messages are send according to the schedule "Reminder system user password expires" and using the template "Employee - system user password expires". You can modify the schedule and mail template in the Designer, if required.

TIP: To prevent passwords expiring for service account, for example, you can set the option Password never expires (DialogUser.PasswordNeverExpires) in the Designer for the affected system users.

For more information, see the One Identity Manager Configuration Guide.

Checking Authentication

The system runs validity checks to prevent users from working with established connections, if they were deactivated after they logged in.

The check takes place when the next permissions based action on the connection at a fixed interval of 20 minutes.

TIP: You can change the interval in the configuration parameter "Common\Authentication\CheckInterval". Edit the configuration parameter in the Designer. For more information, see the One Identity Manager Configuration Guide.
