Manage Rules Through the Categorization Manager, you can perform all the required rule management including creating, deleting, and editing their properties.
You now have the option of creating rules with either an easy to use Rule Builder (that allows you to select form a list of available text extractors) or with an XML editor.
At a glance, you can see whether a rule is enabled in the system, the categories associated with the a rule, and make any necessary adjustment to its definition and properties.
Categorization starts by comparing the text in a resource to a defined match criteria. This criteria is known as a text extractor. The text extractors are used in a rule, which, when applied to a resource may result in a match. The following types of text extractors are provided to develop the pattern to locate in the extracted text in your documents: • RegEx text extractors that use regular expression syntax. • Dictionary text extractors that use terms (which can be a word or a multi-word phrase). A dictionary can be either public (non-secured) or protected (read-only). • Advanced text extractors that use grammar\library (.ecr) files. Within the Categorization Manager, you can view and manage all the text extractors that are included in the system and available for use within rules.
