Microsoft Entra ID app registrations and Microsoft Entra ID service principals
When an application is registered in a Microsoft Entra ID tenant, it creates an associated Microsoft Entra ID service principal. There are so-called app roles defined for app registrations. Microsoft Entra ID users, Microsoft Entra ID groups, or Microsoft Entra ID service principals can use app roles to provide permissions or functions for the application.
For more information about integrating applications in Microsoft Entra ID, see the Microsoft Entra ID documentation from Microsoft.
Information about Microsoft Entra ID app registrations, Microsoft Entra ID service principals, and app roles within a Microsoft Entra ID tenant is loaded into One Identity Manager during synchronization.
If an Microsoft Entra ID application is used in a Microsoft Entra ID tenant that is registered in another Microsoft Entra ID tenant, only the Microsoft Entra ID service principal and not the Microsoft Entra ID app registration is loaded into One Identity Manager.
You cannot create new Microsoft Entra ID app registrations, Microsoft Entra ID service principals, and app roles in One Identity Manager but you can specify owners of app registrations and service principals and create or delete app roles in One Identity Manager.
