Approving or denying responsibility for objects

As part of an attestation, you can approve or deny that you are the owner of a particular object. You can also suggest another owner.

To approve or deny responsibility for an object

  1. In the menu bar, click Attestation > Pending Attestations.

  2. (Optional) On the Pending Attestations page, perform one of the following actions:

    • To display attestation cases of a specific attestation policy, click (Filter) and in the Filter Data side panel, select the corresponding attestation policy under Attestation policy, then click Apply filter.

    • To display attestation cases of a specific object, click (Filter) and in the Filter Data side panel, select the corresponding object under Object type, then click Apply filter.

    • To display attestation cases with a high risk, click (Filter) and in the Filter Data side panel, select the High risk check box, then click Apply filter.

  3. Perform one of the following actions:

    • To accept ownership of an object, next to the relevant attestation case (such as Who is the correct owner of the system entitlement?), click Approve.

    • To reject ownership of an object, next to the relevant attestation case, click Deny.

  4. In the Approve Attestation Case/Deny Attestation Case side panel, perform the following actions:

    1. In the Reason for your decision field, select a standard reason for your approval decision.

    2. In the Additional comments about your decision field, enter extra information about your approval decision.

    TIP: By giving reasons, your approvals are more transparent and support the audit trail.

  5. Click Save.

To deny ownership of an object and suggest another owner

  1. In the menu bar, click Attestation > Pending Attestations.

  2. (Optional) On the Pending Attestations page, perform one of the following actions:

    • To display attestation cases of a specific attestation policy, click (Filter) and in the Filter Data side panel, select the corresponding attestation policy under Attestation policy, then click Apply filter.

    • To display attestation cases of a specific object, click (Filter) and in the Filter Data side panel, select the corresponding object under Object type, then click Apply filter.

    • To display attestation cases with a high risk, click (Filter) and in the Filter Data side panel, select the High risk check box, then click Apply filter.

  3. Next to the relevant attestation case (such as Who is the correct owner of the system entitlement?), click Approve.

  4. In the Approve Attestation Case side panel, perform one of the following actions:

    1. In the Reason for your decision field, select a standard reason for your approval decision.

    2. In the Additional comments about your decision field, enter extra information about your approval decision.

    3. In the Suggested owner drop-down, select an owner.

  5. Click Save.

Displaying my departments

You can display all the departments for which you are responsible.

To display departments

  1. In the menu bar, click Responsibilities > My Responsibilities.

  2. In the navigation, click Departments.

    This opens the Departments page and displays all the departments for which you are responsible.

  3. (Optional) To display details of a department, click the department.
